Content marketing is an essential aspect of bringing clients into your business, but when it is done without passion, it could be the very thing that is holding your business back. So often, marketing seems like yet another job to do, so how do we make sure we keep that passion for marketing and allow our business to thrive?
Content marketing is the lifeblood of your business, it is how you attract your dream clients, people you WANT to be working with. So having a passion and enjoyment for marketing is a must! This means getting into the right mind-set and getting clarity. Let me introduce what I call the three M’s – clarity of mind, clarity of message and clarity of marketing.
Clarity of Mind
If you’re not 100% clear on who your dream client is, then it is really difficult to communicate with them. It could also mean that you’re not 100% clear on your niche, who your dream target audience is, or how to find them. It could even be clarity around what your offer is. Sometimes we’re just trying to be too many things, to too many people, and that not only confuses our audience but confuses us too. Once we start to get super clear on who it is we help, how we help them, and the transformations we offer, our content marketing becomes so much easier.
Clarity of Message
If you don’t have clarity of mind, you don’t have clarity of message. It’s really hard to create a message when you’re not 100% sure what you’re supposed to be saying, or who you’re talking to. This often leads to procrastination, feeling stuck, or creating content that doesn’t connect.
Perhaps you’re not getting the engagement on your post that you feel it deserves. It could be that you’re not getting consistent leads into your business, or any leads from your content marketing at all. These are red flags that something is not 100% right. If you feel your content isn’t connecting you need to have a deeper look at your messaging and the meaning behind it.
Clarity of Marketing
To put it simply, marketing is connecting with and having conversations, with your dream clients, letting them know what you do and how you can help them. If you’re not 100% clear on that, you’re going to struggle to do your content marketing properly. You might find it difficult to be visible in your brand or feel unsure how to present yourself to your audience. Maybe you feel as though you’re putting on a front or a mask and you don’t feel comfortable being your authentic self because you’re not 100% sure who that is and if that’s okay, which keeps you stuck and frustrated. If this sounds like you, you need to do some deeper work on what will make marketing more fun and aligned to you, what’s your best marketing method for your personality and style.
If you are struggling with your content marketing, I’m here to help you get 100% super clear on the three M’s. I have created a quiz so you can see how effective your content marketing is, which is a fun way of having a look at what gaps there may be in your marketing approach and how you can improve it. I am also offering a free call as a thank you for taking part.
